Almost everything I read is written from Washington, London or Brussels. I would like to know what this looks like from everywhere else.
Not takes on who is right. Just: what is on your news, what are people saying at work, has anything actually changed for you.

Indonesia. Honestly? It is the fourth story. Fuel prices, a local election, and a football result are ahead of it.
The one thing people do say: for twenty years we were told to pick a side and warned about what happens to countries who trust the wrong great power. That lecture has stopped this month. Nobody says why. Everybody knows why.
Kenya. It is on the news every night, framed almost entirely as an economics story — the dollar, the shipping, the insurance.
The commentary I keep hearing on radio is a kind of dry amusement. "The rules-based order has discovered it was a rules-based order." Not celebration. More like watching a very strict teacher get detention.
Argentina. We have lived through currency crises that were entirely our own fault, and we were told for decades it was because our institutions were weak.
Watching the strongest institutions on earth do this to themselves in six weeks has been clarifying. Not satisfying. Clarifying.
Taiwan. It is the first story, every night, for six weeks.
Everything here runs on one assumption. This month that assumption was tested in another ocean and it did not hold, and the party that broke it was the guarantor.
Nobody in this thread will feel this the way we do. I am not asking anybody to. I am answering the question honestly: it has changed everything and none of it is visible yet.
India. Non-alignment has been a slightly embarrassing inheritance for my whole generation — the thing our grandparents did.
It stopped being embarrassing on about the 20th of January. Nobody in government will gloat. Everybody in government is quietly very pleased with a position we have been apologising for since 1991.
Egypt. Two things at once.
On the street: mostly indifference, with a strand of bitter humour about who gets called an aggressor.
In my family: my brother works in Gulf logistics and has been on the phone for three weeks. The shipping and insurance changes are real and they reach here fast. That part is not abstract at all.
