Operation Albion Anvil
Operation Albion Anvil is the American campaign against the United Kingdom, planned in seven days of continuous modelling and delivered to the White House on 14 February 2026. Its three phases are the destruction of the British sea-based deterrent, the suppression of British air defence, and an amphibious invasion of the British Isles. Phases I and II have been executed. Phase III has not been ordered, and the assessment attached to the plan gives 95 percent certainty that ordering it produces nuclear retaliation.
The planclassified
Four serialised red-bordered binders were laid out in the Situation Room on the afternoon of 14 February: Operation Albion Anvil: Theater Operational Concept for Conventional Interdiction and Ground Seizure of the United Kingdom. It is the first comprehensive war plan directed against the British mainland since the founding of the republic.
Phase I — Counter-CASD. Task Force 84 fast-attack submarines, with continuous P-8A tracking from Keflavik and Maine, attempt to localise and destroy the two Vanguard-class boats on patrol. The Defense Intelligence Agency assigns the hunt a maximum confidence of 18 to 22 percent and concludes that at least one British submarine, with up to sixteen Trident II D5 missiles, would evade interdiction.
Phase II — Suppression. Neutralising the British air surveillance system, the subterranean command redoubts at High Wycombe and Boulmer, the Type 45 destroyers, and the mobile Sky Sabre batteries requires five carrier strike groups, over three hundred land-based strike fighters, and massive salvos of standoff cruise missiles — an estimated 65 percent of the entire global American inventory of precision standoff weapons within twelve days.
Phase III — Assault. Two Marine Expeditionary Forces and the XVIII Airborne Corps, more than 160,000 troops, mobilising every Military Sealift Command vessel in service across 3,200 nautical miles without European staging. Projected losses of 15 to 25 percent of assault shipping to submarines and mines before landfall, and 40,000 to 60,000 initial American casualties in the urban fighting that follows.
The nuclear annexclassified
US Strategic Command attached a standalone annex. Under the conditions of a direct invasion threatening the survival of the British state, British doctrine executes the Letters of Last Resort. With France's combined nuclear command activated, the annex concludes with 95 percent analytical certainty that an amphibious landing on British soil triggers theatre or strategic nuclear counter-strikes against American carrier groups, Atlantic ports, or metropolitan centres of the United States.
The Secretary of Defense summarised the plan to the room in one passage: "The operational blueprint is drafted, verified, and ready for execute orders if commanded. But the Joint Staff and Strategic Command must state for the record: executing Albion Anvil requires stripping our entire Indo-Pacific and Middle East posture bare, risks the destruction of the Atlantic Fleet, and carries a near-certain probability of crossing the strategic nuclear threshold."
Phase I as executed
At 04:12 GMT on 16 February, B-52Hs, B-1Bs, and Super Hornets released 148 AGM-158B and AGM-88G weapons at the British integrated air defence network from launch baskets northwest of the Faeroes and in the central Norwegian Sea.
Allied defences destroyed 84 of them. Type 45 destroyers Defender and Diamond fired Aster 30 from the Firth of Forth and the Humber; Sky Sabre batteries engaged over the Scottish coast; Quick Reaction Alert Typhoons out of Lossiemouth and Coningsby brought down nineteen with Meteor and ASRAAM.
Sixty-four got through. The 3D radar installations at RAF Buchan and RRH Benbecula were destroyed, communications relay masts across the Pennines were brought down, RAF Leeming's runways were cratered, and Boulmer's surface masts were destroyed — though its hardened bunker continued on auxiliary power.

Phase II as executed
Over the following seventy-two hours American air forces expended 388 further standoff weapons against Royal Air Force main operating bases and command centres. Runways at Lossiemouth, Coningsby, and Waddington were cratered and several fixed radar heads destroyed.
The fighter force survived. Operating from dispersed sections of the M1 and A1(M) motorways and from hardened revetments under decentralised emission control, Typhoons and Rafales ambushed American strike packages over the North Sea and Scotland, shooting down fourteen American aircraft — eight F/A-18F and two EA-18G among them — for eighteen allied fighters lost.
Phase II also produced the largest naval surface action between Western powers in eighty years, and an allied counter-strike that destroyed the fuel farm at Keflavik and re-cratered its runway, suspending the heavy air bridge from the continental United States and putting American fighters in Greenland on fuel rationing.
The state of the campaign
Four days of Phase II consumed 42 percent of the total American global stockpile of JASSM-ER and LRASM standoff munitions. Strategic Command confirms that neither deployed Vanguard, nor the French Le Triomphant, has been localised: forty-eight submarine-launched thermonuclear missiles remain hidden in the deep Atlantic. American strategic forces are at DEFCON 2.
Phase III cannot begin until the amphibious staging report is delivered on 24 February. Every assessment in the American record says that it should not begin at all.
