My husband is inside Lakenheath. I am outside it. That is all I am saying about who I am.
My husband has been on that base for six days without leaving it.
I am not going to say which base or what he does. I will say that he called tonight and asked me to look up what a "custodial detachment" is, because he did not want to say more than that, and I understood him perfectly.
We are a normal family. We do the shop on Thursdays.
He is fine. He rang for ninety seconds on a landline and said he is fine and they are being correct with everyone.
Our neighbour Sue brought a lasagne round at half seven this morning. She did not say anything about any of it. She just handed me the dish and said "the kids like it, there's no onion in it."
I do not know what any government is doing. I know Sue made a lasagne with no onion in it. That is the whole of what I have got today.
My husband is one of the 1,150.
You are both right and it does not help me. He is innocent AND it happened second AND he is still behind that fence AND nine French families are burying people.
There is no arrangement of those facts that lets anybody win this argument. I wish you would all stop trying to. I am so tired.
Day nine.
Sue brought another dish round. Shepherd's pie. She said "no onion" before I could ask.
I have decided that whatever anybody signs, whenever they sign it, I am naming Sue in the speech.
Day ten.
He got another ninety seconds today. He said the British sergeant on his block has started bringing tea round in the morning, and that nobody has decided whether to say thank you, and that everybody says thank you.
Two armies. One kettle. That is where we have ended up and I do not know whether to laugh.
